  1. I went to my first races at Ascot Park in the fall of 1967. I was hooked. I think I sat just by Actress Shirley McClain one night. I was too excited to even ask. She sat there in the stands about 5 rows up from the flag stand. Had a big dude guy watching over her. I would get there early enough to park out on Western Blvd. and walk in. Saved enough on parking to buy some Little Orbit Doughnuts and a hot choclate brfore the feature. The concession lines were the slowest or I was real hungry by feature time.

    • I been to ascot park speedway The first night of race because
      my father way the starter for the California Jalopy Assoc. back in the 1957. His Name was Kenny Burggraf
