  1. Baylands was such a fun place, lots of good times. I can’t believe it’s been 24 years since my good friend Gino and I got liquored up on Rum & Coke and watched Steve Kent win the final race there. I still have the T shirt.
So sad that the place is closed. And then we have the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds demolish the grandstands and the track. I don’t know why Baylands was closed, I believe it may have been sold to a developer but whoever was responsible for what happened at the fairgrounds should face a firing squad and shouldn’t be giving the privilege of a cigarette.

  2. BAYLANDS WAS A GREAT PLACE TO RACE AND TO WATCH RACES SOME OF THE BEST RACERS WERE THERE OF THAT ERA.CALIFORNIA HAS LOST MORE THAN IT HAS IN DIRT TRACKS BUT THE MEMORIES LIVE ON.
