  1. Don Horvath – 2/14/1965 – USAC Midget. This happened at Vallejo Speedway, the 1/5 mile on Broadway not the 5/8 as reported. I was there that day.

  2. In your list you of fatalities you have Dinny Paterson from Australia, but you’ve missed Jim McMahon, also from Australia, who was killed at Carpinteria Speeedway on 11 July 1948.

    regards

    Geoff Barnett

  3. You have Walt Reiff as a spectator in Sacramento at the old fairgrounds in 1970,you may want to check on that information

    • Brad,
Walt was struck and killed by another car while he was in the infield trying to warn other drivers of an accident, therefore they consider him as a “spectator” death as opposed to being killed in an actual race car.

  4. Will you please contact me? I am doing research into the history of a particular car that is said to have been wrecked in a sports car race in Southern California in 1969, killing the driver. I am trying to verify the accuracy of this account. I have studied your lists but thus far not found any matching information. Thank you.

  5. Was searching a favorite sprint car driver of mine . Then I link here. I atended Santa Maria Speedway weekly as a kid from ’79 to mid ’90s Doug Fort held a “Bud” Stanfield mamorial at the speedway , as I recall a crewman was struck on the infield. Could be incorrect on his spelling but I’m certian a man was killed on the inner track. 1/3 mile clay on Hutton rd. Nipomo. Not at the fair grounds.
I’m not conected to any of these deaths on this importat list. But, respect and thank you for acknoliging their sacrifice to a sport I love and continue to attend up and down our state.
    Peace.

  6. Please correct the spelling of the young man who died at Orange County Int’l Raceway on 4-9-69. His last name is Nielson — Gilfert Nielson.

  7. My dad’s old 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe #34 Frank Allen he let a Women drive it and she won the Race at San Jose Speedway back in the 50s …unable to find History on it ….Help Please…F.P.Allen Jr.
